One of Arkansas's historic treasures, Mather Lodge holds the distinction of being the only lodge built in Arkansas by the
Civilian Conservation Corps. The rustic warmth of this mountain lodge built of native log and stone, combined with the natural beauty of its bluff setting overlooking rugged Cedar Creek Canyon, make this a special place for getaways and special occasions. Facilities built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s are among America's most popular park facilities, and you'll understand why when you experience Mather Lodge.
Choose from 24 guest rooms or the park's cabins that are near the lodge. The dining room features large windows that frame the view of Cedar Creek Canyon. The westward view across the canyon is highlighted by a dramatic sunset each evening. Two small meeting rooms can accommodate groups. There is also a swimming pool for lodge and cabin guests.
The original portions of the lodge dating from the 1930s were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the Works Progress Administration. These are the CCC lobby, dining room, guest rooms, and breezeway. Dating from 2012 are the renovated main dining room that overlooks the canyon, the kitchen, new front desk area, and a covered entryway that all mirror the Adirondack-style park architecture of the original portions.
Most of the park's cabins are near the lodge. One cabin is a short drive away. Some are 1930s CCC/Rustic-style, and others are modern duplex designs. Choices include one-bedroom, three-bedroom, and studio cabin designs. The cabins are fully-equipped, and 21 include kitchens. Many of the cabins are spaced along the bluff of Cedar Creek Canyon.
